The School
Out-of-School Care and Early Childhood Education at Stars Montessori Academy
Our Way of Thinking
Our mission at Stars Montessori Academy and Out-of-School Care is to encourage the full development of young minds by providing an atmosphere that encourages independence, creativity, and a love of learning that will last a lifetime. The Montessori method is the foundation of our philosophy, which places a strong emphasis on the significance of recognizing each child as an individual who possesses their own set of requirements, interests, and potential. It is our belief that students should be encouraged to improve not just their academic skills but also their social, emotional, and physical development. This will result in the creation of well-rounded persons who are ready to face the difficulties that lie ahead.
Plans of study
Through the incorporation of essential subjects like Art Exploration and Creativity, Language and Literacy, Music and Movement, Science and Nature, and Cultural Studies, our curriculum has been meticulously crafted to cater to the whole development of children. Children are encouraged to investigate their interests, question the world around them, and participate in meaningful activities that cultivate critical thinking, teamwork, and personal development through the use of hands-on, experiential learning. Flight: Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework serves as the source of inspiration for our educational approach, which ensures a smooth transition between early learning, daycare, and formal schooling.
The Reasons Behind Stars Montessori Academy and Out of School Care
When you choose Stars Montessori Academy and Out-of-School Care, you are selecting an educational setting that recognizes and appreciates the significance of the following:
An Environment That Is Loving, Caring, and Nurturing: Our school is a home away from home, where each and every child is treated with love, respect, and care. Children are able to feel safe, valued, and a part of a community when they are in an environment that is warm and welcoming, which is something that our instructors are passionate about developing.
Because we are aware of the significant impact that nutrition has on the growth and development of children, we provide our guests with well-balanced and nutrient-dense meals and snacks that are prepared by our in-house chef. Our food is meant to support the health and well-being of every child, and it is designed to adhere closely to the Canadian Food Guide. We take great effort to accommodate dietary preferences and limitations, and we always adhere to the guide.
Communication with Families: We are firm believers in the efficacy of forming partnerships with families and ensuring that communication is open and transparent by means of often scheduled meetings, events, and updates. We ensure that parents are completely engaged in their child’s educational journey by committing ourselves to engaging families in the educational process.
Field Trips: Field trips are an essential component of our educational program, as they provide children with chances for experiential learning that take place outside of the classroom. These excursions, whether they involve a trip to a local museum, farm, or cultural institution, contribute to the enhancement of our curriculum and offer valuable experiences that are relevant to the real world.
Seasonal activities: Our calendar is packed with seasonal festivities and activities that bring our community together. These events are held throughout the year. These get-togethers, which range from cultural festivals to holiday parties, are occasions for happiness, education, and the formation of memories that will last a lifetime.
More than simply a school, Stars Montessori Academy and Out-of-School Care is a community that is committed to delivering an extraordinary early childhood education that provides the groundwork for a lifetime of learning and discovery. We are more than just a school. Come and be a part of us, and allow your child’s road to excellence to start right here.
