Our Philosophy
Stars Montessori Academy and Out of School Care’s philosophy centers on providing a high-quality, inclusive, and lower staff-child ratio for children and their families in a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment. Our primary responsibility is to support children in their holistic development, and we believe this requires a deep understanding of each child’s thinking, explorations, and curiosities.
Flight inspires Stars Montessori Academy and Out of School Care’s curriculum: Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework. We have adopted the principles of the Alberta Education Kindergarten Program Statement to create a seamless transition between early learning, childcare, and formal schooling for children and families in Alberta.
At Stars Montessori Academy and Out of School Care, we aim to provide high-quality care by establishing a relational environment that supports child, family, and educator-led educational settings, empowering children to thrive in a caring, loving, and nurturing atmosphere.
Our program strives to create an inclusive environment. Every child is unique and has own strengths and preferences. In our inclusive childcare, children experience the reciprocity of relationships and the interconnectedness of ideas, where educators value children’s contributions and actively seek diverse perspectives for learning.
Our lower staff-child ratio approach enables our highly trained educators to pay closer attention to every child’s holistic developmental needs. Children thrive when loved, valued, and cared for, and we are committed to supporting their social, emotional, creative, physical, and intellectual growth. Our highly trained and experienced staff are dedicated to providing the best possible care and fostering every child’s potential.
Our daycare centre is committed to creating an environment that supports inclusion for children with special needs. Every child has the right to access high-quality early childhood education and care regardless of their abilities and needs. Therefore, we work closely with families and other professionals to design a program that supports the developmental needs of children with special needs.
